Very nice coffee house with light breakfast, to go or eat in. Has two sides separated by a little courtyard. Busy but quick service, good food and locally sourced coffee. Family owned and coffee comes from a small family farm in the south west of Puerto Rico. Our server Sara was very helpful supplying suggestions for the next part of our trip in the Rincon area, even took the time to write out a list of good things to do and good places to eat.

Great charming coffee shop with local pastries and treats. Was a pleasent place to charge up while roaming old san juan streets. And the coffee was excellent too.

Our family of four had a delicious brunch here this morning. My Americano and breakfast sandwich were amazing and the avocado toast my daughter had was delicious and fresh. The staff were very friendly and it was a lovely experience!

Café Cuatro Sombras in Old San Juan became our daily stop. They have two entrances — one on C. Tetuán and one on C. Recinto Sur — and each side feels like its own café with a different vibe, connected by a calm courtyard in the middle. The coffee, roasted in-house from their own farm, was the best we had in Puerto Rico. The food is fresh and simple in the best way. I personally loved the avocado toast on their rosemary olive bread. Their iced teas were great, and their baked goods are excellent. Service was consistently friendly and efficient. Once we found this place, we kept coming back every day. Highly recommend.

We came here for breakfast and it was very good! We got a latte and ~cinnamon roll~ to start. Then we got the croissant sandwich and the cuatro sombras sandwich, which were both very good! The cafe was also very cute. There is also an outdoor seating area.

Right in the middle of Viejo San Juan this is a wonderful quiet place to get some respite. They have a very nice assortment of sweets and the coffee is delicious. I recommend the guava quesito and a cortadito!

lovely coffee shop tucked in the streets of viejo san juan. service was very friendly - i mean look at this doggie oat milk latte!!! we got the yuaco panini too which was delish. fun to people watch here as there is a mix of tourists and employees from the capitol. unfortunately bathrooms were not serviceable but for coffee and a quick bite i would highly recommend.

Most amazing farm to table, single origin coffee! We were in town for a few days and came here everyday. Very smooth coffee, always a line which is a good sign. We had their cappuccino, cortado, and iced latte all the them were great. We also their ham and cheese croissant with the Guava butter, phenomenal and must try! They do sell coffee online for those wishing to order more, trust me you will want to!

Cuatro Sombras didn’t disappoint! I turned to my fellow Yelp reviewers to find a local coffee shop with authentic Puerto Rican coffee and it was perfect! The coffee was smooth and the cortado worth trying. I had plain avocado toast and had them suggest another pastry to try - they suggested the guava croissant however I didn’t know it came with ham and cheese (I don’t do pork). They quickly and kindly refunded it and offered me a croissant with plain guava butter. It’s VERY sweet (but delicious) so next time I would get it on the side. There are two sides - one more bar like vibe and one more coffee shop vibe. It was a really great spot to stop on our visit!
